Laws
EEG
The law for renewable energies became effective in 2000 and was revised in 2009. Expanding the amount of renewable energies for the production of electricity is the aim of the law. This amount shall account for at least 30 % until 2020. Thereby the legislator obliges electricity suppliers to buy electricity at fixed tariffs from operators of plants that produce electricity from renewable energies.
The level of the tariff depends on the type and power of the plant used for power generation (photovoltaics, biogas, wind, water, etc.). Besides there are several bonus payments particularly for biogas plants. You may find the levels of the different biogas bonus here.
The payments for new plants are normally guaranteed for 20 years.
KWKG
The aim of the act on Combined heat and Power Cogeneration of 2002 is to expand the amount of electricity from heat power cogeneration plants. As well as in the EEG electricity suppliers are obliged to buy electricity from operators of these plants. Combined heat and power cogeneration-plants with waste and on the other hand Combined heat and Power Cogeneration-plants run with fossil fuels will be fund. Since the amendment in 2009 its possible to get money for the electricity consumed by oneself.
EEWärmeG
The Renewable Energy Heat Act obliges to proportionally cover the required heat in new buildings with renewable energy sources. The level depends on the used type of energy. Mostly solar energy, geothermal energy, environmental heat, solid, gaseous or liquid biomass are available. The amount of solar energy has to be 15% the amount of gaseous biomass 30%. The remaining types of energy must correspond to an amount of 50% of heat energy.
EnEV
The Energy Saving Act is mainly involved in the energetic concept for new buildings as the case may be renovations or expansion of buildings. Saving measures by the means of insulation and by the means of more efficient systems engineering (refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning or lighting technology) are described therein. A directive on the energy performance of buildings has to be issued according to the energy saving act with construction, changing or extending buildings. Basically directives on the energy performance of buildings for existing buildings can be issued either based on the calculated energy demand or on the measured energy consumption.
